Description : This sculpture captures Krishna in the process of conquering Kalinga (Kaliya) the Serpent.Krishna dances triumphantly on top of the serpant Kaliya. Krishna holds the end of the tail of and dances on the serpant's 5 heads. His right hand is held up in the abhaya mudra. This Krishna is a hand made, one of a kind, brass sculpture cast by the artists of South India using the lost wax process, a skill passed on for generations since the Chola period.
